Easy Jalapeño Poppers

Spread the love

It’s football season, so today I wanted to give you the recipe for a perfect game day snack! This recipe has only 6 ingredients and 7 steps.

I discovered this recipe when I got too many jalapeños in my Walmart pick-up order. Online, they have them by weight instead of quantity, so I ended up with about 4 jalapeños more than I needed. This recipe is a combination of one I found on the internet from spendwithpennies.com and the ingredients I had at home at the time. I was pretty happy with how mine turned out with my modifications, but I’m sure the original is awesome too.

Fair Warning: Remember not to touch your eyes when you make this recipe! If you are especially sensitive to pepper oils, you might want to wear gloves and/or eye protection when cutting the jalapeños. No judgment here.

Ingredients

For this recipe, I didn’t include quantities, so it’s adjustable to however many you jalapeños you have or want to make.

  • Jalapeños
  • Butter
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Dill seasoning
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Cut jalapeños in half and scoop out the insides into a bowl.
  3. Remove the membranes from bowl, leaving just the seeds. Add 1 tbsp. butter and melt in microwave. Add breadcrumbs and dill seasoning; mix.
  4. Place jalapeño halves on a lined baking sheet, fill with sour cream.
  5. Top with shredded cheese then breadcrumb mix.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
  7. Let chill and serve!
