While probably not the healthiest dinner we make, this is a go-to recipe for Friday nights. It’s so quick and easy and perfect to satisfy your pizza cravings.
This recipe would also make for great party food if you’re asked to bring an appetizer or finger food.
All you need is 20 minutes to get this on table including prep and cook time, so it’s perfect when you’re crunched for time.
Chances are, you already have most of the ingredients in your pantry or fridge and will only have to buy rolls/buns and pepperoni.
INGREDIENTS
- Pack of 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls or 12 slider buns
- 1/2 jar red sauce (tomato, marinara, pasta, etc. – whatever you have around)
- 1/2 package shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24 slices pepperoni
- 2 tbsp butter
- Italian seasoning
- Minced garlic
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375° F.
- Line 9 x 13” pan with parchment paper and all 12 rolls or slider buns. (You don’t need to separate them.) Remove top half of buns and set aside.
- Spoon 1 spoonful of sauce onto each roll and spread to cover.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over sauce layer.
- Add 2 pieces of pepperoni to each roll.
- Add additional layers as desired (optional).
- Top with top halves of buns.
- Bake for 7 minutes. When 1 minute remains, melt butter in microwave (approx. 30 seconds).
- Pour butter over sliders. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and minced garlic on top.
- Bake for 2 additional minutes.
- Serve with extra red sauce for dipping (warmed), parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes.
When we make this recipe, it’s usually almost gone in one night with 1-4 sliders leftover depending on how hungry we are. I usually eat 4-5 rolls and my boyfriend will have 6.
